I cleaned my PS3′s bluray lens and it still doesnt read discs?

I opened up my PS3 slim which ive had for about two years and cleaned the lens the put back to together and did everything perfectly…And its still doesnt read any discs. Now what do i do?
Do i have to replace the whole bluray drive? Also, where should i buy it,I was thinking about buying it on ebay:.

Is it too late to send it to Sony? Yes, as soon as you damaged/removed the warranty sticker, whether under warranty or not, it was too late. Sony does not accept PS3s that were opened by anyone other than them (this is why they don’t accept PS3s with damaged warranty stickers as well, because if there is even a possibility it was opened, they aren’t going to accept it).

As far as your Blu-ray problem, it sounds like the laser went out. You can NOT replace the whole Blu-ray drive, or it will never work again. The Blu-ray drive is synced to the motherboard, and you can not re-sync it if you replace the Blu-ray drive.

Your only option is to change out the Blu-ray lens (which houses the Blu-ray laser), the motor, or any of the plastic parts. Do NOT change out more than that, or the Blu-ray drive will never work again, no matter what you do.

As far as where you buy it, that is up to you, I don’t get anything if you buy it from one place over another.
